Context:
Oakland Goes Outdoors, an outdoor education program serving 22+ OUSD schools, was facing a shift in its funding. It needed a clear plan for its structure, leadership, and staffing to stay strong through 2030.
The Collaboration:
Designing Impact ran a strategic planning process with input from many groups. It started with surveys of educators, parents, funders, and partners, including 104 educator responses from 20 schools, and a full-day staff retreat. The team explored various structural paths, built a fundraising strategy, built and guided a re-organization of roles with the team, and created a suite of tools to support the operation.
