Context:
As part of GFN's strategic planning process, Designing Impact conducted internal and external interviews to understand the challenges in food banking and identify the areas where a member-based organization could provide disproportionate impact. One part of the process was discussing the role of AI in reshaping food banking operations.
The Collaboration:
Designing Impact built GFN's 2027-2030 strategic plan and identified the key experiments for the organization in the AI-driven space (e.g. building open-source tools to support virtual food banking). These findings and tools were folded directly into GFN's strategic plan, positioning the network to adopt AI thoughtfully rather than reactively.
